Engagement Rings

Ah one of life's simple joys, right? HAHA Yeah right.

I was up in Renton going to a ring store and oh boy was that fun. I got to look at engagement rings.

I would like to mention I do like jewelry, I don't wear it, but a lot of jewelry is absolutely beautiful. Many of the ones that are considered sparkly that have a lot of jewels, such as diamonds and what not, well to me they are stupid and should have never been made.

In all reality, jewelry seems to be more for the people that want to own them and can afford to own them. Especially diamond rings. To which this tale begins.

I'm up at the jewelry store in Renton, again, checking out engagement rings, as I have told before. Great rings, solitaire, probably my favorite, because it is only one stone. I've always seen rings before, but not really like this. You get to watch people as they are talking to the sales representatives and I just think, "this is for a great purpose, getting the ring for the girl of your dreams." That and, "why do people really want to spend this money on something so small?" Well, I understand somehow. Back to the story.

I'm looking and they have so many rings, and you have to find that right one. You think about your girl in your life, you have to picture her, because she isn't with you, because this is a special moment. Then you have that idea in your head, and you see her, the color of her skin, how big or small her hand is and how long or short it is. Here we go.

Is the ring too small? Is the ring too big? What's her size? Should I have one diamond or multiple diamonds? Can I afford it? Oh look, a blue diamond, that's beautiful. "It's a microwaved yellow diamond." Microwaved diamond, dang it still looks good, I don't care. That was my thought. I'm not a traditional guy, I mean I am, but I like to be a little different when it comes to engagement rings. Anyway, on with the story.

So much has to go in for a guy to find that right ring, stone and any other thing that has to go with that engagement ring. To me, it's on the verge of sad, but what do I know, I don't have a girlfriend yet, that's okay. At least when I see a ring, I know if it sucks or not. I'm very proud.

To end this, fellas. When looking for a ring, have a big budget ready, because you may want that sale ring, then you find out, it's sucks, I mean really really sucks. Be aware. Know the color of jewelry she wears, talk to her about other jewelry besides a ring, so you can get some in-depth ideas on what to look for. Then you know if she likes yellow/white/platinum color better than the other. If it's a serious relationship, talk about stones. I mean bring up something if you are watching a show and you see a giant 300 karat diamond. By the way, that just shows how much money they have, doesn't matter if they like it, my personal opinion.

It's tough. It will only get better. Enjoy engagement ring searching.
