Okay, probably not my best random thought, but go with it, because it's been awhile since I've actually written here.
Lately, mainly all things under PG-13, well suck.
Also, a lot of the movies put in those stars that will boost revenue because of the draw of hormones. Take for instant the Herbie movie. Hi, is this movie about Herbie, or what's her face that does almost all Disney Movies?
Second we have The Perfect Man, starring Heather Locklear and another Disney chick. I don't feel like naming names, because you know who they are. The only reason I would see this movie, is one: I better have a date, or two, because of Heather Locklear, she what, 50 and she still looks that good.
Movies have been on the slow end this year and in some years past. Mostly the chick flick movies have been recuts of movies that have been made about six months apart. Could people understand, in order to have a good chick flick movie, it needs to be different than the last movie that was out. I don't care if it was made by another company, they need to know what they are getting into. Take for instance, what was it, Chasing Liberty, starring Mandy Moore. Good actress, almost saw this movie because of A Walk To Remember, but I didn't. Glad I held off, people didn't like it. Then what six/seven months later, First Daughter starring Katie Holmes, also whom I thing is a very attractive young lady, even though a year older than me, movi comes out. I thinking, come on, wait! Wait for people to get over movies that sucked.
Now take this, The Notebook, solid, solid movie. It ranks, not that high, but high enough such as A Walk To Remember, what's the gap there, years, my friends, years.
Let's move on: Superhero movies. Okay, I enjoy them as much as my other friends do namely John. My take, I don't want it to be campy that came from a comic book, because comics are comics, these are movies adapted from comics, make it real, comics are definitly fantasy worlds. Take for instance Batman Begins, Nolan nailed realism. Bryan Singer in X-Men 1 and 2, nailed realism, keeping it real. I do hope Singer gets Superman right, I think based on all those blogs I've been watching, OUTSTANDING.
Action movies: DONE, they are done, unless they have a good back story. Such as: Man Under Fire. That was good. No more, robots, enough with the futuristic hoop-lah. No Terminator, no I ROBOT, no more. Wait for a bit. Transformers is coming out in 2006 or somewhere in the next few years, I'm gonna see it, it better not suck.
TV to Movies: Dukes of Hazzard, what would John think? To tell you the truth, I don't know. Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke, HELLO! She's blonde, sure she has a body, which Dave believes is untrue based off information we read. Couldn't they have gotten a brunette that was from the south? Yeah, but hey get the singer star that doesn't understand TUNA.
Movies in general, right now thanks to Batman Begins, things are starting off well for summer blockbusters. War of the Worlds is on it's way, by the way, can they stop making alien movies for awhile?
Make something dramatic and bold. And no more Lucas movies for awhile. I give George and Steven props for making sure on a good Indiana Jones IV script. Which means 2007 or 2008 whenever Harrison is available.
Movies are great, but a story that gives it meaning is better. Disney understands it, it has C.S. Lewis stuff going on, good for them. Warner Brothers, Fox and Sony have superhero stuff, good for them, keep it realistic PLEASE.
Action, GO AWAY, we don't need it anymore. Especially Robots.
TV to Movies: If Friends comes out as a movie, I leave that to John to write a letter.
